ADOTADOT ECD is responsible for CVO Weigh in Motion (WIM) activities in the State of Arizona including international border weigh in motion.
ADOT MVD maintains the CDLIS (Commercial Driver's License Information System). All Commercial Driver information is in this database. DPS, other states, border patrol, ADOT Enforcement and other policing and CVO administration agencies can access this data. Make data available for viewing by other agencies.
Accept request for crash data and disseminate region specific information on crash data, as appropriate, to regional and internatinal stakeholders who request it.
ADOT Enforcement and Compliance Division (ECD) handles medical certificate issues as they concern commercial drivers. They have an international fuel tax agreement (IFTA). They are a member of the IRP plan and participate in the IRP Clearing House. MVD Motor Carrier Services administers the IFTA and IRP programs. MVD also administers the CDL program. ECD provides enforcement for these programs through the fixed and mobile port operations.
ADOT Motor Vehicle Division registers commercial vehicles. They also provide licenses to drivers and plates to the vehicles.
Secure, monitor, maintain, and control all ADOT field equipment
ADOT ECD checks commercial vehicles at fixed ports of entry to the State and through mobile enforcement for compliance, weight, and safety laws, including laws relating to the transportation of hazardous materials.
ADOT ECD Inspects vehicles to ensure their legality and identifies stolen vehicles and vehicle parts. They provide internal investigations, fraud investigations, and other investigative services.
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Agency (FMSCA)Provide carrier, vehicle, and driver safety and credential information to fixed and mobile roadside inspection stations.
Allow the roadside inspector to select vehicles and/or drivers for inspection based on the number of prior carrier inspections, as well as carrier, vehicle, and driver safety and credential historical information.
Participate in electronic credentialing and safety screening programs.
Mexico Governmental AgenciesCollect, analyze, store and process information regarding emergency notification findings.
Coordinate and facilitate sharing of emergency traffic, event, weather, incident and other information on corridors crossing the boundaries between the US and Mexico.
Private Information Service ProvidersCollect, process, store and disseminate traffic and highway condition information to travelers, including incident information, detours and road closures, event information, recommended routes and current speeds on specific routes.
TravelersUtilize information provided by public agencies through DMS, smart phones, 511, etc... to re–route, telecommute or otherwise avoid traffic incidents and other emergency conditions.
Receive traffic and event information from a regional and/or statewide information service providers.
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP)Secure, monitor, maintain, and control all CBP field equipment and personnel.
Assist, as appropriate, in visual observation of CVO credentialing and safety matters
Develop and store emergency response plans
Participate in inter–agency responses to large–scale emergencies outside ot the immediate border crossing areas.
Manage the observation and inspection of people and goods passing through the border crossing areas.
Provide border crossing wait time data and information to appropriate partner agencies.
Ensure all relevant and applicable data security laws and regulations are being followed, and that data is secure.
Manage inter–agency responses to large–scale emergencies (evacuation, etc.) at, or in close proximity to border crossing areas.
