ADOT Virtual Port Technologies
Status: Existing
Description
This element represents virtual commercial vehicle screening technologies in the state. The technology, including cameras, weigh–in–motion scales and other in–road sensors have been installed at three of the state's highway rest areas, McGuireville, Canoa Ranch, and Sacaton Rest Areas. The commercial vehicle screening technology promotes safe and expeditious movement of vehicles, allowing ADOT Enforcement and Compliance Division (ECD) and DPS officers to focus on commercial vehicles with weight, credential, and/or safety alerts. This provides reduced traffic congestion and promotes more efficient and effective enforcement efforts.

CVCE Electronic Screening | 'CVCE Electronic Screening' supports electronic credentials and safety screening of commercial vehicles at mainline speeds. It processes the data from the commercial vehicles along with accessed database information to determine whether a pull–in message is needed. It may also generate random pull–in messages with provisions for facility operators and enforcement officials to have manual override capabilities. | False |
