Increase Budget
26. JUSTIFICATION
This request is to increase construction funding to account for items that were underestimated during scoping and Stage II such as lighting, traffic control, pavement incentives, survey/layout, and contractor QC. Subsequent to the Scoping and Stage II estimate, there were also major unit price changes for items such as concrete and asphalt, both of which have high quantities on this project. This project is funded with Vulnerable Road User (VRU) apportionment from the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP). ICAP is included in this request.

This project will receive FY23 construction funding through MAG`s ALCP program which was approved at MAG Regional Council on March 23, 2022. The Department will pay the match on the MAG ALCP funds. The revised program budget is based on the Final PA. ICAP is included in this request. This section of roadway will be a turnback to MCDOT at completion of construction. This project will reduce the roadway width to be two lanes in each direction and will install curb, gutter, sidewalks, bike lanes, and lighting. Drainage improvements will also be implemented and all unneeded R/W will ultimately be abandoned to adjacent property owners. The Department intends to turn the corridor over to MCDOT at project completion. This request will not fully fund the development of this project. Additional design funding (ALCP) will be considered for approval the at MAG Regional Council on 6/23/21. A request to add those FY22 funds to fully fund the 01D will follow after that action is complete. Consultant: $330k Staff: $261k ICAP: $59k
