| Establish New Project |
| 26. JUSTIFICATION |
| This is a Central District Minor Programs Project in the City of Maricopa. The project scope is to widen the NB roadway from 2 to 3 lanes and rehabilitate the existing pavement in both directions, within the project limits. The Lakeview Drive/Cobblestone Farms Rd intersections are being widened to provide additional turning capacity onto SR 347. This will be a turnback to the City once the construction is complete. The pavement rehabilitation work is to be funded by the state per IGA (22-8745) and the original unit costs and quantities were underestimated. The local contribution has been received. Environmental clearance is planned for 4/26, with ROW and Utility clearance to follow shortly thereafter. There are no new ROW or utility conflicts on the project. Contingent upon approval by MAG Regional Council, anticipated in May, 2023. ICAP is included in this request. |

Additional work for the consultant is necessary to incorporate added pavement rehabilitation length, GRIC native plant inventory, and 404 technical report. The design includes survey and mapping, geotechnical investigations, Coordination with GRIC, Final PS&E documents, and preparation of the three clearance documents (ROW, Utilities, and Environmental).
