| Funding is requested for the consultant to complete the mapping of fiber pull box and cable details in ADOT�s 3GIS Fiber Database. Once the inventory is mapped in ADOT�s 3GIS mapping database,it can be used for future roadway design regarding Broadband and local ITS fiber locations. |

| Establish new project |
| 26. JUSTIFICATION |
| New project to inventory FMS/ITS Fiber boxes and splice details. Collection of fiber splice details and pull box locations by outside on-call consultant. Staff of one can`t complete the entire metro area. The consultant will go to each fiber box, get the lat/long, open the box to determine fiber footage in the box, then inventory the the splice closure in the box if one exists at that location. This will track fiber footage through each box. Important for design of fiber hardware. |
