| 26. JUSTIFICATION |
| The subgrade on SB US93 between approximate MP 129.4 and MP 129.7 has been identified as being unstable. During the design of the project, following the engineering investigations, the design team recommended reconstructing the roadway within the area of unstable subgrade using High Survivability Separation Geotextile Fabric, Geogrid Base Reinforcement, Aggregate Base, thicker asphaltic pavement, and drainage improvements. The request also includes a change of beginning milepost from MP 128.0 to MP 127.67, to avoid a gap in pavement treatment between this and a recently completed pavement rehabilitation project. The additional construction cost to rehab the pavement in this gap, is included in this request. ICAP is included in the request. |
