Increase Construction Budget
26. JUSTIFICATION
The scope of this Mohave County HSIP project along Northern Avenue includes sidewalks (on Northside from Stockton Hill Road to Castle Rock Road and on south side from Stockton Hill Road to Bank Street), separated bike lanes with buffer striping, two high visibility crosswalks, one at Stardust Road and another at Benton Street, Colored bicycle lanes at signalized intersection crossings, and Traffic Signal upgrade for bicycle control at Bank Street. This project is being re-advertised. Along with the originally funded Vulnerable Road User (VRU) apportionment from the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funds, the project has also been recently awarded Transportation Alternatives (TA) funds, which will address the project`s construction funding needs.

26. JUSTIFICATION
The scope of this Mohave County HSIP project along Northern Avenue originally included sidewalks (on Northside from Stockton Hill Road to Castle Rock Road and on south side from Stockton Hill Road to Bank Street), separated bike lanes with buffer striping, two high visibility crosswalks, one at Stardust Road and another at Benton Street, Colored bicycle lanes at signalized intersection crossings, and Traffic Signal upgrade for bicycle control at Bank Street. This project is going to be re-advertised. The design is in need of additional funding. TA Funding will be added in the future for all the project construction funding needs. This project is funded with Vulnerable Road User (VRU) apportionment from the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP).

26. JUSTIFICATION
The scope of this Mohave County HSIP project along Northern Avenue originally included sidewalks (on Northside from Stockton Hill Road to Castle Rock Road and on south side from Stockton Hill Road to Bank Street), separated bike lanes with buffer striping, two high visibility cross walks, one at Stardust Road and another at Benton Street, Colored bicycle lanes at signalized intersection crossings, and Traffic Signal upgrade for bicycle control at Bank Street. The project was first advertised with scope reduced at Stage IV due to the Department`s estimate being significantly higher than the available funding for construction. The project received no-bids. On the re-advertisement the received bid was significantly higher than the department`s estimate thus rejected. Before the project could be re-advertised for second time, the County received additional (TA) funds for construction that will pay for the significant part of original scope. This request is to increase the project budget for the consultant to the consultant to revise Stage IV Plans, additional utility coordination, updated clearance, Final Plans,Specifications, & Estimate and associated tasks to re-advertise the project. Consultant - $65k

The project includes sidewalks on the northside of Northern Avenue from Bank Street to Castle Rock Road, separated bike lanes, a high visibility crosswalk at Benton Street, and traffic signal improvements at Bank Street.
