| 26. JUSTIFICATION |
| This project will upgrade 9 TS-1 signal cabinets with TS-2, Type V signal cabinets along US 70 / US 191 in City of Safford. This will include installing any conductors for detection or preemption needed for the work. This work is necessary as the existing cabinets are outdated equipment, and do not meet current standards. They are all 10 to 15+ years old and require replacement for optimal functionality with the signal communications equipment. The TS-2 replacement cabinets will allow for programming changes through the controller, allowing the technicians to make adjustments more efficiently. This project involves utilizing ADOT manpower to remove the existing TS-1 signal cabinets and replace with the new TS-2, Type V signal cabinets at the 8 intersections along US 70 and 1 intersection along US 191 at Discovery Park. |
