| 26. JUSTIFICATION |
| The Design Team and District recommend applying a full-width microseal to the existing roadway rather than a 2-foot patch over the pavement markings area followed by a slurry seal. A narrow patch would create a new joint directly in the wheel path, which is likely to deteriorate rapidly under traffic loads. The proposed minor scope change is a good pavement life extension investment. |
