Change Project Name and length, Increase Budget |
26. JUSTIFICATION |
Subsequent to funding the project design with legislative appropriation, the project was awarded a Federal RAISE grant totalling $4.25 million. Project Name will be changed to Imperial Dam Rd - Castle Dome Mine Rd. Length of project will be changed to 10 miles. Additional work includes design of 7 miles of new ROW Game fence and associated cattleguards, design of two new roundabout intersections (changed from original signalized intersections), fiber optic relocation design requested by Yuma Proving Grounds, and additional environmental field and report work for the added 7 miles. Staff: $47K Consultant: $540K ICAP: $63K |

This new project will use legislative appropriation money reserved for the US 95 corridor. The project will consist of reconstructing US 95 from an existing 2-lane highway to a 4-lane divided highway in the vicinity of the Yuma Proving Grounds. The two directions of travel will be separated by an open median as depicted in the 2006 Design Concept Report. The project will include comprehensive design services, ROW development, Utility Coordination and an Environmental Assessment Re-Evaluation. Staff: $276K Consultant: $3,570K ICAP: $404K |
