| The original HSIP estimate underestimated the construction costs for 144 fiber and 7-way multi-duct conduit and the software development. Additional funding is required to account for increases in unit prices for fiber optic cable and conduit as well as account for costs of software development for integration of the road weather system components. | To stay within the programmed construction budget,the project length was reduced from a 20 mile length (Transwestern Rd to Cosnino Rd) to a 10 mile length (Transwestern Rd to I-17 TI). Change project name to: "Transwestern Rd - I-17 TI". The additional funding is required to cover railroad permit costs to BNSF for installation of fiber optic conduit attached to the bridge barrier at the eastbound overpass bridge (No. 322, MP 190.8 - MP 190.9) crossing over the railroad right of way. This cost was not anticipated during the development of the original design budget. Additional funding is needed for the cultural monitoring plan that was also not part of the original design budget.
