| 26. JUSTIFICATION |
| This request is to establish a construction project that will install traffic safety improvements on IR34 and IR42 for the Tohono O`odham Nation. This local agency project is fully funded with High Risk Rural Road (HRRR) apportionment from the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP). |

| 26. JUSTIFICATION |
| The Intergovernmental Agreement of the subject Highway Safety Improvement Program (HRRR) project has been executed. The project consists of upgrading 4-inch wide painted centerline and edge line pavement markings to 6-inch wide thermoplastic edge lines and 4-inch wide thermoplastic centerlines and installing raised pavement markers along the centerline, installing stop signs, curve warning signs, and chevrons where needed and installing �Do Not Enter When Flooded� and depth gauge signs at wash crossings. Additional work includes grounding in centerline rumble strips and installing flexible delineators. HSIP funding will be used for the ADOT PDA Fee. Consultant - $170K ADOT PDA Fee - $30K |

| The Tohono O`odham Nation (TON) has received HSIP eligibility for safety improvements phase 4. On IR 34 from IR 15 to end of pavements, approximately 5 miles, install centerline edge line pavement markings and centerline Raised Pavement Markers (RPMs)and curve warning signs. On IR 42 from IR44 to Standfield Road, approximately 4 miles, install new thermoplastic striping, new signage and rumble strips. Staff $38K Consultant $162K |
