OHV Education Course

An Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Safety Education course will be required before an OHV decal can be issued, per Laws 2024, Chapter 240, between January 1, 2025 to June 1, 2027.

The course is called: Required for OHV Decal: Safe & Ethical Riding in Arizona

The course:

Is free
Is 10-15 minutes long
Questions can be answered repeatedly until the correct answer is selected
Is only required once
- E.g., Customer owns 4 OHVs; will only need to take the course once
Must be completed before any title and/or registration with the issuance of OHV decal is completed
Can be completed on AZ MVD Now at any time

Education Course Requirements

Only Arizona residents are required to complete the course on AZ MVD Now
- Nonresidents will need to complete the same course (Safe & Ethical Riding in Arizona) BUT it will be taken on the Arizona Game and Fish website
Only one owner is required to complete the course
- For organizations: A representative of the organization will be required to take the course; will be required to sign into AZ MVD Now through the organization's account to take the course

Education Course Requirements According to Ownership Chart

** Note: Customer are not required to provide proof of affiliation for Organizations or Trusts **

Ownership	Course Requirements
AZ Resident (one owner)	Owner takes course on test station or on AZ MVD Now
AZ Resident (more than one owner)	Only one owner is required to complete the course (see above)
AZ or out-of-state resident with an OHV Certificate (see examples certificates section)	Manually add the customer characteristic to the customer record
Out-of-state driver license with OHV titled in Arizona	Create customer account in MAX (if required). Completes course on test station.
Out-of-state driver license with OHV titled out of state	Refer customer to Game & Fish
Organization	One organization representative will be required to complete the course. The OHV Education Organization characteristic can be added to the record by doing one of the following: Provide the OHV certificate. CSR will manually add the OHV Education Organization characteristic or The representative can take the course on the office test station or The representative can sign into their organization's AZ MVD Now account to take the course
Trust	One Trustee is required to complete the course either on the test station or on AZ MVD Now
Redacted Records	If applicable follow redacted process in order to take the course on test station
