Arizona Registration Only (ARO)

To qualify for an ARO all of the following must be true:

• The vehicle must be from a title-holding state
  • To verify if the state is title-holding, refer to the World Data Corp (Polk Book) Quick Reference Guide
    • If the state is a non-title holding state, the customer must provide the out-of-state title and an out-of-state title transfer will be processed
• The customer must show a registration document from the title-holding state showing the vehicle is titled and registered in the customer’s name

An ARO will NOT be issued to a vehicle that is eligible for an Arizona title.

• Out-of-state uncertified Motor Vehicle Record (no date of issuance restrictions); OR
• Out-of-state registration document*
  • The out-of-state registration may be expired or
  • A non-validated registration renewal document is acceptable
  • Title Jurisdiction is required when establishing a new ARO
• Emissions certificate, if the qualifying vehicle will be registered in a non-attainment area, or commuting to a non-attainment area

*A Temporary Registration Permit (TRP) OR Sales Contract/Invoice is NOT acceptable. If there is a valid TRP in place, a customer cannot obtain an ARO. The customer must wait until the vehicle is fully registered in the state where the TRP was issued before registering the vehicle in Arizona.

A Title Summary page will not populate; since a title is not being issued.
